Another Christmas season has passed and we are now into a New Year. Time goes so swiftly!!
We are very thankful for an enjoyable Christmastime. There were some sweet times with our church family throughout the month. We also enjoyed seeing some of my Mom's side of the family early in the month at my cousin Christie's home.
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, Jeff, Mom and I spent some time in the Kansas City area, attending a Christmas Eve service at Blue Valley Baptist Church, going downtown and seeing the pretty plaza lights, eating a delicious meal, etc.
On the 27th, Jeff and I, along with my sister Beverly and husband Don from Texas, gathered at my Mom's home in Girard, Kansas.
Friday, my sister Kaye, husband, Rob, and grandson, Lincoln, along with our kids, Andy, Carman, Laine, Ellie, Rachel and Jonathan, all from Arkansas, joined us. We had a delicious meal together on Friday; opened gifts on Saturday and then attended my cousin, Shawnee Viets and Josh Lorenz Wedding in Pittsburg, Saturday afternoon.
Saturday evening, Jeff and I and our kids traveled home to Galena. It turned out to be a rather eventful night when about 10:30 p.m., the kids realized Ellie was struggling to breathe. Along with Jeff, they rushed her to ER in Joplin where she was diagnosed with acute croup. Bless her sweet heart! Thankfully, she has recovered completely.
Sunday, the family from Girard came to First Baptist, Galena for church and then to our house for lunch. After they left, then the kids and Jeff and I had our gift exchange. Here are just a few pictures of our weekend (I posted a lot on Facebook and since most of my readers are also my friends on FB, I know you have already seen them there).
Laine and Lincoln were excited to see each other:
And I loved seeing those granddaughters!
