December had been such a full month for us with all the usual Christmas activities and then a pause in all that to minister to one of our sweetest church families as we sat with them in the hospital while their six week old daughter/granddaughter/niece lived out her last two days during the week of Dec. 16th. It was definitely one of those tough, tough ministry times when your heart just breaks at the journey others have been called upon to walk. The Meyr/Wade family have amazed all who know them with their strength and faith as God took their little Jaci Grace home. Her funeral service was a testimony of this dear family's trust in God's plan and purpose for Jaci's life.

We all long for the day we will once again see sweet Jaci in Heaven and will continue to pray for her family here that God will give them continued strength, grace and comfort!

We have had an enjoyable "ten day" holiday celebration.
The first of Christmas week, Jeff and I went to Branson for a couple of days to celebrate our 41st wedding anniversary. We weren't the smartest kids when we were 18/19 years old but too in love to give any thought to it. A wedding on the 22nd, Christmas on the 25th and my birthday on the 29th! Oh well, we get it all done within a week that way! We had purchased season tickets to Silver Dollar City in the spring and wanted to visit one more time during the Christmas season this year. SDC outdoes themselves in lights and decorations. It's just beautiful! And to top it off, it was just snowing "to beat the band" when we arrived and continued for the first 30-45 minutes we were there. Even though it was cold, it was so much fun!
We are so very grateful to one of our church families for providing wonderful accomodations for us whenever we are in Branson. Such a blessing! We left Branson on Christmas morning, came home and repacked and headed to my Mom's in Girard where we enjoyed our extended family for 4 days.
Mom treated Jeff and I and my sisters and husbands, Bev and Don and Kaye and Rob to Jim's Steakhouse for supper one evening. They serve the best sirlion tips anywhere!
Kaye's children and grandchildren were the only kids that could make it to Kansas this year. We are sure glad they came as having children around makes Christmas so much more fun! Gift opening time!
