We were so blessed to be invited by Andy & Carman to join them for a vacation in Branson to help watch the girls. We met them at the beautiful Rockwood Resort Condos on Easter Sunday afternoon. Papa was thrilled to see those granddaughters (and DeDe was too)!
The first morning the girls opened their Easter baskets from us.
Both girls were so, so good all week!
Playing Cinderalla magnetic dress up dolls with the Bug
We also played several games of Candyland over the week. She was catching on by the end of the week!
Papa and his oldest granddaughter
DeDe and her youngest granddaughter
Arms full of love!
We tried to get some family pictures but the lighting wasn't good (that's Tablerock Lake in the background)
A little better on this one
Andy & Carman had found these shirts at Old Navy while shopping in Branson. They say, "I Love My Papa." At this point in the picture taking, the girls were getting tired!
Andy & Carman would go somewhere each day for a few hours to just spend some quality time alone. Jeff and I gladly stayed at the condo and watched the girls. The weather during the week had been cold and rainy. But on Friday, our last full day in Branson, we all went to Silver Dollar City. That day, the weather was just beautiful and we had such a fun day together!!
Here is Momma and her girls:
And DeDe and her granddaughters (the guys were buying our season passes)
The SDC staff photographer took a picture of all of us. This is just a poor copy from my camera of that picture but it's the only one we have of all 6 of us together.
The morning was spent in letting Laine ride the kiddie rides. The last time she was at SDC, she was only 15 months old and it was 100 degrees! So this time, was much more enjoyable for her and for us!
She loved every ride and wanted to "do it again!"
She even rode the mini roller coaster with her momma. She didn't cry although I think it did scare her a little.
The teacups!
Sweet Ellie, for the most part, spent the day with her Papa in her stroller. She was sure a good girl!
Laine loved the swings
Just as her DeDe, Daddy and Mommy did the big swings
On the Train
Love this one of Papa and Ellie
Riding the Butterflys
And the Elephants
Carman getting some cuddling from her baby girl
And Laine getting a ride on Daddy's shoulders
Mid-afternoon, I did take the girls back to the Condo for their naps. Our condo was only about a mile from SDC. Jeff, Andy & Carman stayed at the park. Jeff enjoyed some shows and Andy & Carman rode some of the "big" rides.
After the girls' naps, we headed back to the park for another hour or so before they closed.
Riding the Carousel
Three generations :-)
We wished the park would have stayed opened later than 6, but by time we got home, ate supper, took baths, it was probably good that it did close early.
Laine is so fair complicated, that even with sunscreen, she got a little sunburn. It didn't seem to hurt her though.
Such pretty hair!
On Saturday, it was time to head home. Hard to say goodbye!
Thank you again, Andy & Carman for sharing your vacation week and your precious girls with us. The memories will be treasured forever! Love you all!
